Not everyone likes to train alone. Sometimes, it is helpful to have a friend with you, so you can cheer each other on. My training methods also offer you these types of training choices, so that you can get exactly what you are looking for.

Who is Coach Eddie?

Coach Eddie Akan Story:


When I see someone struggling to complete one of the 60-minute circuit-training sessions, I know how to help them reach the finish line, because I have been there before. A little more than 9 years ago, I weighed nearly 300 pounds. I made the decision to change my life, and through pure dedication, I slimmed down to 160 pounds and I have since maintained my newly svelte physique. Throughout my journey to fitness, I learned a myriad of ways to strengthen core muscles, shed weight, enhance agility and stamina, and now I'm determined to share my techniques to help others make similar transformations at Mind Body Total Fitness.


Myself and my team of certified trainers mix and match those methods to target all the body’s muscle groups during our boot camps for exercisers of all fitness levels. In our co-ed and women's-only boot camps, we constantly vary the routines to prevent workout burnout. One day, participants might run short sprints, jump rope, and do sit-ups balancing atop exercise balls, and the next, you might pull against resistance bands, do leg lifts, and toss medicine balls to other participants. 


Remarkably, I am an accomplished amateur boxer and the 2010 National Brown Gloves Champion. To better attribute to my training program, I incorporate many boxing training techniques learned throughout the years into this workouts as well. 


Education and Training:

Certified through the National Federation of Professional Trainers in personal training and as a Corrective Exercise Specialist, I'm an elite amateur boxer in the Houston area with 2010 National Brown Gloves Championship title.
